Cookies and Tracking Technologies
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which ones bruleish.com uses, why, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. Types of Cookies on This Site
Strictly necessary — required for the store to function: keeping items in your cart, remembering your session, securing checkout and preventing fraud. Set by Shopify (e.g. _shopify_s, _shopify_y, cart, secure_customer_sig, _secure_session_id) and our payment provider. These cannot be switched off.
Preferences — remember choices such as currency, language and whether you have dismissed a notice (e.g. localization, keep_alive).
Analytics — help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it: pages viewed, time on page, errors. Set by Shopify analytics and Google Analytics (e.g. _ga, _gid, _shopify_sa_p, _landing_page). Data is aggregated and does not identify you directly.
Advertising — used by Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google and similar partners to measure our campaigns and show you relevant ads on other sites (e.g. _fbp, _gcl_au). These cookies enable targeted advertising, which you can opt out of below.
2. Cookies and Similar Technologies
A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser so it can recognise you on later pages or visits. Session cookies disappear when you close the browser; persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them. Cookies set by our own domain are first-party; those set by our partners (for example Google or Meta) are third-party. Pixels, tags and local storage work in a similar way and are covered here too.
3. Retention
Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies last between 30 minutes (session-tracking) and 13 months (analytics and advertising identifiers), after which they expire unless renewed by a new visit. You can delete any cookie earlier through your browser settings.
4. Our Partners
The third parties that may set cookies on bruleish.com are Shopify (platform and analytics), Shopify Payments (powered by Stripe) and the payment methods you select (checkout security), Google (Analytics and Ads), Meta (Facebook/Instagram pixel), and the apps we use for reviews, tracking and email. Each processes the data under its own privacy policy; we do not control their cookies, but we only allow them for the purposes described here.
5. How to Control Cookies
You can also control cookies through your browser: block or delete them in Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge under privacy settings (blocking essential cookies will prevent checkout from working). To opt out of targeted advertising cookies specifically, use the controls on the Cookie preferences page, enable the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, which we honor, or use the industry opt-out tools at optout.aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu. Opting out of Google Analytics is possible with Google's browser add-on.
